About Me

Dr. Elviann Pinder PT, dpt, ktp, NASM-PES

I am a registered Doctor of Physical Therapy with 6 years practice experience in Nassau, Bahamas.

My journey to becoming a Physical Therapist began 2011, in Kingston, Jamaica where I studied at the School of Physical Therapy at the University of the West Indies. I was an athlete throughout high school and university and I have always wanted to marry my love for medicine with that of exercise and fitness. After doing research on the field of Physiotherapy, I knew that this would be a valuable skill that I would enjoy sharing with my homeland, The Bahamas.

During my years of study, I did my clinical rotations at Doctor’s Hospital (2012), Handling Your Health (2013) and Princess Margaret Hospital (2014). I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy in October 2014.

My early 3 years of practice were spent in service to the wider Bahamian public at Princess Margaret Hospital’s inpatient and outpatient departments. At the same time, I worked doing home care services in my own private practice.

In June 2017, I decided to name my practice “Your Neighborhood Physio”. The name represents my desire to bring quality Physical Therapy services to the wider community and enhance the visibility of this essential profession.

The valuable and priceless lessons learned in the public service eventually led me further into private practice working at Paramount Rehabilitation & Fitness for 3 years.

I was drawn by my desire to learn more about my craft and was called to study at the doctorate level. I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in May 2020 from the University of Montana.

Today, my goal remains the same and Your Neighborhood Physio is here and continues to serve!
